FAQ

What do I need to bring for my Cabins stay?

Please plan on bringing food, paper towels, condiments and shampoo. We provide a hairdryer, toilet paper, bar soap, all linens and bedding. Your kitchens are provided with basic cooking and eating utensils, coffee filters and dish soap.

Yes! Each cabins and lodge at Lake Park has its own gas grill. If you are at one of our RV or tent sites, you are more than welcome to bring your own charcoal or gas grill with you.

We allow tents to be set up at our designated tent sites. The RV sites do not have enough room to accommodate a tent without being on the grass or infringing on someone else’s site. Tents are very hard on the grass and we also have underground sprinklers which run in the night.

Yes! While the true fun of Lake Park Campground lies in the outdoors, we pride ourselves on offering WiFi to our guests, as well.

We do not have provisions to charge the batteries of an electric vehicle. The only option available at this time would be to reserve a separate RV site for that purpose.

When in doubt, please feel free to call or email us with specific questions you may have! While our property is set up to provide ample parking for those staying in one of our cabins and homes, it is not set up for a large group of people that are not staying at Lake Park. We ask that guests also respect our quiet hours, which begin at dusk.
Due to the demand of our cabins and the short season, we adhere to our cancellation policies as shown here. We highly encourage you to purchase trip insurance in case of needed cancellations. Keep in mind that most trip insurance plans require you to make the purchase very soon after making your booking.
Unfortunately, we do not at this time allow pets in the cabins or cabins areas. Supervised, well-behaved pets are welcome in the tent and RV sites with a daily fee. A dog park and dog walk are conveniently located near us for you to explore.

We do not have an on-site pool. Try out our creek for wading and splashing around! Also, check out the Jimmy Hilton Municipal pool, located only 5 minutes away!

We are centrally located near many destinations. Mt. Rushmore is only thirty minutes away and many of the area attractions are within that radius. The Badlands are only forty-five minutes to the East, and Deadwood about the same distance to the North. We enjoy helping plan your daily itinerary and excursions. We have a list of things to do nearby on our maps page.

No, we do not have provisions for campfires due to the proximity of other camping sites. However, we do allow gas and charcoal fires. There are a number of locations nearby where it is possible to have a campfire for a picnic or evening meal such as Sheridan Lake and the picnic shelters here at Canyon Lake.

We are on the West edge of Rapid City just off of Highway 44. Major chain grocery stores are about 3 miles away, with numerous places to eat within 5 miles. We are just 4 miles away from Downtown Rapid City – a country feel with city appeal! Be sure to check out the local Farmer’s markets in the summer and food trucks year round.

From I90 Take exit 57 ((hwy16) at first intersection take Hwy 44 West 4 miles following these streets(Omaha St) then (Mt View) then (Jackson Blvd.) when you see the lake on your left prepare to turn on Chapel lane to the left go one block to the entrance Lake Park Campground and Cabins.
Coming from South 79 take Catron Blvd cross Hwy 16 continue till Sheridan lake rd. then turn right and then left at first intersection (Corral Drive) then first right on (Park) go until it dead ends at Jackson Blvd. take a left and go until you see the lake on your left prepare to turn on Chapel Lane to the left. go one block to the entrance Lake Park Campground and Cabins.
